Where It All Began ...

It all began in 1972 in a detached garage of 600 Sq. Ft. on the corner of Stone and Kelso on the west side of Tucson. I was a victim of the economic slowdown of the 70's and decided that this was the time to make a move into the business owner arena, as jobs were in very short supply. To say that it was a shock to my system, living the "Dream" would be an understatement. The problems and struggles were monumental getting my baby off the ground, and many times, as the economy improved I was tempted to throw in the towel and go back to the comfort of a steady paycheck. It was very discouraging working 15 hours a day, 6 or 7 days a week and just making enough to pay the bills. I'm not sure what kept me focused on my "Dream" with a wife and a daughter to provide for, but upon reflection I think I was just not able to surrender to failure.

You would never know looking at the corporation that stands before you that at one time this was a two man show, and remained so for several years. Our operation expanded slowly but surely, and after several small location moves, in 1984 Dan's Paint and Body found its way to its present location on 22nd and Alvernon. The facility was quite a bit different 27 years ago, measuring approximately 4,000 Sq. Ft. and sharing office space with other businesses. As we continued to grow in the marketplace, it was necessary to hire more employees and in 1995 I found the need to expand my existing facility an additional 15,000 Sq. Ft. The late 1990's provided a solid platform for Dan's Paint and Body's growth. We began to facilitate some direct repair relationships with quality insurance companies and increase our hold in the very loyal Tucson market through word of mouth and referral driven work.

Where We're Going Now ...

Fast forward to the present and my dream has come true, with steady growth trends and several moves to larger facilities. With the last move in 1984 and new construction, we now occupy 60,000 Sq. Ft. of property, and 25,000 Sq. Ft. of repair space. Always looking for new and better ways to repair vehicles and create satisfied customers, we at Dan's have always stayed on the cutting edge of repair equipment, facility improvement, and education of our employees to achieve the goal of complete customer satisfaction. Our 60,000 Sq. Ft. facility has provided not only gorgeous office space, but a cutting edge facility that allows ample room for our unique approach to "Blueprinting" vehicles by means of an initial tear down, assessment of all related damages, and supplement handling prior to the vehicle ever going to a technician. Assessing the damage up front in a triage format allows us to average one to two days less per job, by eliminating unforeseen holdups. Each customer is assigned to an individual Collision Repair Consultant (CRC) and that individual is the sole contact throughout the repair. Go ahead and call them, you will never get a voice mail box. In fact there is no such thing at Dan's. "Every customer deserves to speak to someone directly" is my philosophy. "We have always provided our customers with that extra personal touch that is lost in so many businesses." That personal touch and passion for what our employees at Dan's do on a daily basis is driven by the ability for every individual to provide input on how the daily operations are run. After 40 years and over 50,000 satisfied customers, I still love what I do, and look forward to coming in to work every day. We have assembled a great "family" of employees, including 3 immediate family members, that are a joy to work with. There is a loyalty factor here at Dan's that is unique in that it is reflected in how the customers feel like friends after they leave. Our approach is to "Treat the customer as you would like to be treated"
